Sumo

OWNER: Brenda Randhawa of Richmond
BREED: English Bulldog

Sumo deserves to win cutest dog because he is so ugly he is cute. Some have said that he has a face that only a mother could love. Although he weighs about 60 lbs he still thinks he is a lap dog and will take love where ever he can get it.

Jay

OWNER: Julie Marzolf of Vancouver
BREED: French Bull Dog

Jay comforts sick children at BC Children's Hospital every Sunday afternoon in his capacity as a St. John's Ambulance pet therapy dog. Jay never tires of offering unconditional love to each and every child he meets. Parents have commented that a little "kiss" from Jay has brought a much needed giggle or smile out of their child in the midst of challenging times. Jay is deaf and in some ways it helps others with "less than perfect" health relate to him. As one young patient summed it up "Jay is my best friend". Does Jay "feel" like a hero? Not likely. But to each parent who sees their child light up when he walks into the room, that's all that really matters.

Milton Landry

OWNER: Linda Landry of Nanaimo
BREED:
Tabby cat

Milton joined our family with plenty of gratitude and lots of attitude after spending six long months at our local SPCA. He is named after the street he was found wandering while looking for a place to call home. Milton thinks he's more like a dog than a cat. He's very loving and affectionate, yet can turn into a playful monster in a flash. One of his favourite things to do is ambush our other cat when she least expects it! His extreme cuteness allows us to easily overlook his many bad habits. Our whole family treats Milton like royalty, so it seems fitting that he has the proper title to match his lifestyle. That's why I think Milton deserves to be a superstar.

Sage

OWNER: Taryn Millman of Ladner
BREED: Collie

Sage is a Collie who is now in her senior years but this has not changed her gentle spirit. Sage has always been a loving pet but it wasn’t until this year when we brought home our new kitten, Jasper that we really saw Sage’s kind and thoughtful nature shine through. Jasper was scared to be at a new home and Sage made Jasper feel comfortable. Sage and Jasper began taking naps together, with Jasper nestled and warm in Sage’s long fur. Now that Jasper has gotten a little bigger, Sage likes to watch over him and make sure he is safe while he plays in the yard. Sage took on the maternal role that Jasper needed and this has made them the best of friends. Jasper has brought a light into Sage’s life which ultimately has made Sage into the most affectionate pet.

Clementine

OWNER: Barbara Lennea of Mission
BREED: Donkey

Our baby donkey, Clementine, is a real traffic stopper! People stop and take pictures as she grazes on our rural acreage. Galloping around and teasing her mother are some of her exciting pastimes chasing chickens and our grandson’s cat are others of her fun and games. She is so cute that the entire neighbourhood knows her and come s to see if she wants a carrot or an apple. But eventually all this activity tires her and she has to rest and where better than in the buttercups of her field.
